    Hi guys,

I've been working on installing a Wilwood dual reservoir master cylinder on my '66 CJ5 and had to bend up some new brake lines. I made the mistake of renting a double flare kit from Autozone and most of the flares I've had to make with it ended up leaking. I've decided to bite the bullet and buy a quality double flare kit to finish this project and for other projects that may come up down the road. I was looking at the Ridgid 345 kit, which I've heard some say is a good kit and makes good flares. Anyone else have any experience with the Ridgid kit or any others?

    Thanks.

I have found that the preparation of the line by filing, reaming and careful placement in the clamp are probably more important than the tools used.

I have had good luck so far with a Kit from NAPA cost around $69 I think. The little reamer in the kit couldn't be less usefull if it was a butter knife but the rest of its good quality

As I said on your other thread, pay attention to fully chamfering both the ID and the OD to get good flares. And yes, the reamer in the kit sucks.

I have two kits they are made by Imperial brass manufacturing company out of Chicago. They are old as dirt but they work great.
