I would like to know what distributor that I have. There is no tag (data plate) on it. The two "tune up" kits that I have bought for it have rotors that are keyed 180 degrees opposite. If I knew what distributor it was, I will not be shooting as much in the dark.

Is there a specific characteristic that tells the IAD from the IAY series?

and the rotors you are receiving in the kits are identical in every way to the one currently being used, other than being keyed 180* opposite ?

Right. It's realtively easy to swap the wires, but I feel so dumb doing that.

well, this may not be much help
for the rotor you have pictured there are 2 different Jeep p/ns
    A-1658
    and
    A-5294
I don't have either to compare side by side
but maybe someone, parts store, can cross the OEM numbers for you

I suppose you could also remove the dist, loosen the oil pump, rotate the oil pump 180* then reinstall the dist shaft also 180*
is number one not at the bottom, to the right on the wire connection?

Little notch for the cap is IAY and you have the correct rotor.
