I am in the process of finishing up my disc swap.

    1959 CJ5 with a Dana 25 front.

I'm thinking that I may have an issue with the calipers that I picked up from the FLAPS. The passenger side seems to be correct, and the drivers side looks correct but the banjo bolt doesn't fit. I'm thinking that the FLAPS gave me a drivers side caliper for a 2X4 instead of a 4X4. Do I need to use a 4X4 caliper, or could i just get a smaller banjo bolt for the drivers side? Would I still be able to use the drivers side brake hose (ie. would the smaller diameter banjo bolt for the 2X4 caliper be compatible with the larger bore of the brake hose intended for the 4X4 caliper and larger diameter banjo bolt?)

The calipers look identical, with the exception of the diameter of the banjo bolt hole.

    Thanks in advance.

Take the caliper back and get the correct one. Probably a packaging issue. The banjo bolt must match both the hose end diameter and the caliper.

My guess is that you ended up with an early standard caliper and a later metric caliper. They changed to metric when they went to 10 bolts...I think... not positive on that change but I know there is a standard and metric caliper. The metric ones are much smaller banjo bolts and they will not be compatible with the brake hose for a standard caliper.

So.... Do I buy the metric brake hose? Or do I buy the standard caliper? The caliper was purchased long ago and all evidence of the transaction was hidden from SWMBO as per Vernco's advice, but the brake hose was bought recently and could be returned.

I'd match the caliper to the other side so you have like parts on both sides for the future......

I'd match the caliper too. I had a tough time finding a long enough brake line at Napa for the metric calipers i accidentally ended up with when doing the disc swap on my sisters 75 CJ. I ended up re-using the brake lines that came off the donor axle. For ease of parts availability I'd match both calipers and use the standard ones.
