I am ready to put a new carb on the dauntless. To many issues with the worn out 2 Jet. I am looking for suggestions from those who have been through this already. I am not doing any climbing or heavy mudding. I am just looking for a general purpose carb.
What say you jeep techies ?

    Find another Rochester 2G.
One that's in good shape should work well for your intended use.
    What's wrong with yours?

Follow the KISS principle, making minimum changes from the original design.

2G is a great carb if you only need the basics and what I would stick with unless your going 4bbl and that's another whole deal.

One of the Holley two barrels is a direct bolt-on replacement. Don't remember the model number. Same spread and bolt pattern as the 2G.
I just happened to luck out and have one in my parts storage when the 2G on my Olds 425 quit on me one day. Didn't have the money for a rebuilt kit, so just said "might as well try this. It will either fit or it won't" , it fit.

I used for a while a 500 2v with an adapetor that went from the 2GC to the Holley pattern. Actually worked great with no issues.
