Hey Guys. My Dana 44 is missing its breather fitting. I think it was busted and someone filled it in silicone. I believe that the fitting originally was on the top of the pumpkin correct? If I clean out the hole (which I think I found) does anyone have a good way of installing a new fitting? Also once I do that and attach a rubber hose to it where does the hose run to under the truck - is there an attachment point? Thanks in advance folks.

I put a elbow on the cover (jbweld'ed on) then ran a hose from it up behind the fender well near the rear lights

The breather tube on a D44 is actually attached on the tube to the right of the pumpkin, right next to where the brake line attaches. It was originally a ribbed fitting...but you can tap it to fit an elbow.

I would suggest you tap the hole and then run the hose up to a higher spot. You can buy the vent from 4WD.com or buy a small fuel filter or other type of filter to put on the end.

There was a thread on this with pics about 2 weeks ago on this Intermediate forum.
