Can someone tell me the diameter for the axle tubes and the U- bolt size for the chunk (distance across). I am making a set of spring plates and cannot find these dimensions anywhere and I cannot find the sheet I wrote these down on years ago. I have the ones for both of the dana 44's but not the 27.

    Thanks!!

How long you gonna be there? I'm about 90 miles away. If you get a chance head over to the rattlesnake saloon, very cool experience.

I seem to remember NAPA having that info on their site some where. Plus it was also in the books at the counter.

I need the dimension of the axle itself, I have the u-bolt chart I just don't know what goes on a Dana 27 anymore since I haven't had one in over 10 years.

I am just here for the day to do a job and then I am back to Memphis to fly out. Job there yesterday. If somehow no one can go out an measure a d27 axle tube for you, I will be home tomorrow and will pull one out of my junk pile and do it.

Last spring plates i made I used 3/8 plate for 1/2 u bolts. Welded on a bolt for shock mounts. seemed like over kill, but seem to work good.

Opps.............sorry about that......2.860-2.900" .....now mine has a little 1/2 round groove warn in there so the minor dimension was inside the other outside........might want to expand that a little to leave yourself some room!
