I’ve got a stick of rare earth magnet that will fit down there. I’m gonna try to get it out with a wire coat hanger before i stuff that in there because they’re kinda hard to get off of something when they stick to something. I thought they had a C-clip in there? And thanks for all of your help guys! I appreciate it a lot.

I can’t get it out even with the magnet. I think the magnet is catching up on a bearing in that end before I get it in there to where that chunk is at. Any ideas?

How long is it? Can you pull the spider gears out and push it into the pumpkin with a long stick? Just spitballing here.

I’m not sure how long the piece in there is, I think it should just be the thing splines but I don’t know how long that piece is. How difficult is it to put the gears back in place if I take them out? Also do I just have to push the pin out to get them out? And is there anything holding the pin in place?

You might be able to push it out from the inside if you can get a screwdriver inside the case against the end of the shaft. It might be a little stuck inside the side gear if it twisted off at the end of the splines. If you can dislodge it enough to get it to drop into the tube, then you can bend some stiff wire to hook it and fish it out from the end of the tube.

Sometimes you have to get creative at finding ways to get broken pieces out. Just know there is nothing but friction holding it in place right now.

I did use a screw driver to push it in a ways but not far enough.

Can you push it farther or does it get stuck? If you can move it it should come loose so you can fish it out like ITLKSEZ suggested.

It snags at the bearing in there. Tried pushing the cross pin out so I could take the gears out try going through the carrier but it won’t budge with a punch and 3 pound hammer

Did you drive out the small pin that holds in the large cross pin? You will need a long pin punch or something similar. Mine removed from passenger side towards driver side. I had to take off the passenger shock absorber to get a decent angle it hit the punch.

Im about to jam some metal between the chunk of shaft stuck in there and the cross pin and the other shaft and just weld it and find a 30 to put in there when I get the chance

Is there enough room between the spider gear cross shaft and the side gear to get something stiff in there to push/tap against the broken piece? Maybe an old butter knife bent in an arc?

It's probably hanging up trying to get past the seal.

Put the cover back on & shoot compressed air into the breather port- either it shoots out the end or you blow yourself up, one way or the other problem solved :)

I heated up a screwdriver with the torch and bent it and stuck it in there and still can’t get it to budge

Anyways I was talking to a guy I work with has a couple of 25s out of Willy’s wagons. You think it’s a direct drop in or would I have to weld perches in a different spot? Either way I think I’m gonna buy them and go through at least one of them and rebuild it and throw it in there.
