Consider twinsticks IMO --Nickmil may have do-it-yourself plans available for converting it! I have seen instructions out on the web but have no idea where these are now. I guarantee you will love the conversion!!

I forgot -- I do have some, if not all of the linkage/shift handle for this case out in my shed. I will include it in the shipment (when I find a container  )

If Jon has the parts from the transfer you're getting from him that may be the way to go. You can modify anything with enough patience to work, but is it worth it? The stock shifter for that transfer may be way easier to modify for your application. A question only you can answer. I built twin stick for mine by simply building a bracket to hold two model 18 sticks where I wanted them using a large bolt with a lock nut for the pivot, then used some flat stock cut to the right length for the linkage pieces. I drilled the ends of the sticks to bolt to the linkage pieces (read flat stock) with small bolts, and again, lock nuts. Hitch pins would probably work fine also, but the bolts give me adjustability on the tension of the shifters. I did have to anneal (remove the heat treating) the ends of the sticks so I could drill through them. They were HARD! I added a little material with the welder around the ends of the sticks where I drilled for more support. Probably didn't need to, but with my heavy shifting hand, didn't want to chance breaking one during a race. If I get a chance I'll snap a pic and post it here. Nickmil.
