As I go through a rebuild on a 67 convertible, I realized that parts of the original convertible frame has some pivot points that are sheared off, plus some other damage. Does anyone know if I opt to purchase a replacement frame top if it mounts using the same three bolts on the each side or does it mount along the top like a jeep or Bronco? I would like to keep it as original as possible, but can't seem to find an original frame for sale in any of the vendors that deal in used parts.

Ok, there is a convertible and a "roadster". The genuine convertible is rather rare, and in good condition they are collectible. The roadster was often fitted with an aftermarket fabric top. If you have an aftermarket top, and you buy a replacement (assuming one is available), it will come with fabric, bows, hardware; everything. There is no source for a convertible top, AFAIK, other than another Jeepster convertible.

Above is a genuine convertible. Below is a roadster with an aftermarket top, with the side curtains rolled up.

Tim, I have the original convertible with the continental kit, just like the top picture. The right side of the convertible frame is in good shape, the left side, not so much. I guess I will be trying to replace the pivot spots on the left side where the frame folds up. Would really like to bring it back to original condition because of it's rarity. 6 cylinder, manual tranny, has the chrome strip down the sides but I have been unable to figure out the color as it is all white. I have lightly sanded down the driver's side quarter panel, but there is no other color underneath the white.

Yes, it is a rarity. You could possibly enlist the help of a machinist to make the pivot parts that are missing or broken. An actual restoration shop would likely have some insight on fixing convertible tops, considering the high value of most convertibles. There's plenty of interest in classic cars in California - Gene Winfield's shop is in Mojave - not far from Lancaster.

Tim thanks for the suggestion. I will contact Mr. Winfield. I just removed the entire frame and once I have it apart I will take the left side to him and see what he suggests.
