i have been trying to do a little research on my CJ6 hardtop..
its a full Meyer hardtop with a swing out "Barn Door" style rear opening..

does anybody have one they can shoot some pictures of so I can compare...

I finally unloaded my CJ6 from the trailer today and will get some better pictures of it.

Here is a picture of the vertical hinged doors, I call them "Ambulance Doors" from a Koenig top.

I have it off right now doing the paint on it, so its in primer.
The glass is the same as the lift gate one.
To use the door you have to remove the tail gate chain hangers and hinges.

I had to repair the hinges and latch.
If you need more pictures let me know

I have only seen them in sales literature. Both of my CJ-6s had lift gates, and I've never seen one sold, on a customer's Jeep, or on the dealer lot when I was working for a dealer.

There is some product literature out there that shows these tops with a rear vertical door. Here is a line drawing -

    - grabbed from somewhere on the net. The same picture is in my parts catalog.

The Meyer Cab page at the CJ-3B page shows an excerpt from some literature that refers to an optional vertical rear door.

Does Gerald's CJ-6 (wuze) have this kind of door? Somehow I recall that it does.

I've always thought that putting a CJ5 top on a CJ6 would be an interesting project. That'd give you ~20 inches of "bed" space.
