I started fixing a CJ5 but need some information please.

Which year models had the windscreen wipers at the top of the windscreen and which at the bottom.

Some models had windscreen wipers at the bottom of the screen with the knob (cover) on the left outside side and some models had it without that cover on the outside.

The pics below show the three different models I mostly see on the Internet. Mine is the middle one, but it was scrapped, thus the registration papers does not show the first registration date.

Actually, looking at the pics now, mine has the windscreen frame of no 2, but the fenders of no 3.
I need windscreen wiper spares so I need to know which year model's spares I must look for.
My Jeep is in the last picture.

Your Cj5 is an intermediate model made by AMC. This would place it as a '72 -'75 model year. You have a longer 84" wheelbase, and the "long nose" front sheetmetal. The most obvious telltail is the extra 4" of front fender where it meets the body tub.
The early CJ5 models had shorter front fenders and hood. In answer to your questions, the wipers at the top of the glass was at least through '67, and sometime in '68, the wipers moved to the lower frame (with the motor on the outside lower corner), but this frame still had a straight edge on the glass top. By about '69 or '70, the glass got the arched top that continued through the intermediate models like yours. The marker lights appeared around the '70 model year, I beleive.

Not uncommon to have parts like windshields and fenders swapped around, especially if it was in an accident. Complicating that is that jeeps assembled outside of North America under license may have different details.

Check the top of the frame rail over/just behind the front axle on you driver's side for a stamped serial number.

Exports should still have a VIN (vehicle identification number) tag. The VIN should tell you the year of manufacture, from 1972 on. If the VIN is lost, it will be difficult to be absolutely certain of the year. You can narrow down the year by features, but as Howard mentions, lots of mixing and matching of parts from different years happens. And available features can be different for export vehicles. The number on the frame is the sequential serial number, which is only part of the VIN after 1972. And it is reset for every production year from 1972 on. With no VIN, your best bet is to make an album of pictures showing the axles, engine, interior, everything you can think of. Members here have the expertise to tell you, but the one picture is not enough.
