All restored back to original...not sure overdrive was a dealer option in 1949..
Anyway, i would argue that the original brakes, engine and steering are precisely what makes this jeep worth LEES than the 25K he is asking. Significantly. I think those items are the reason it has under 1k miles since rebuild. Its dangerous in modern day traffic to try and safely operate this kind of antique.
So, if antique status is what the seller is after, the restoration kills that. I could build one for much less.
I'm not quite understanding what you mean here.
You could make this argument about any antique vehicle...that doesn't mean that they have no value.
We're always critiquing and making comments about what someone calls "restored" with modern drive train. Redone and updated but not restored. The 3A shown is worth more as it is in my book.
