    Dear friends,

Can you help me identify this carburetor? It is on a 225 V-6, I was told it is a Carter.

Yep, Carter AFB. Or an Edelbrock Performer, which are made by Weber. Same carb either way...

If was an Edelbrock, it'd have a Weber "W" cast into the top next to the air horn....

This one has a big C in a circle stamped on it. So is the consensus that it's an AFB? Are there mutiple versions of this? What would I ask for if I wanted to get a rebuild kit?

Go to your reliable FLAPS with the numbers off the carb (probably the 2312 number) and they should be able to get you a kit. Or, order a kit for an Edelbrock from Summit or Jegs....

I did a little more hunting around and found this:

    It reads "J7 9400 S", I believe it is a Carter carburetor, 9400 series.
