Buildup-(pictures-a lot)

    The brake material on the brake band of the winch looks new? Is it and if it is where did you get it and what kind of adhesive did you use? I have just rebuilt one just like but can't find any brake material to finish it. any info would be greatly appericated. Nice build

    I honestly didn't do anything to the winch but mount it, clean it a bit, paint the drum and put new line on it. If I were to guess, I'd say check with a snowmobile shop, or any old school machine shop that will reline drum shoes. They may point you in the right direction

    Copied from the innernet: "Warn discontinued their parts supply for these old winches in 1992, so your only source is the comapny they sold those rights to....The 4-Wheel Drive Center of Minnesota, phone number 800-328-4445 (ask for John), email mn4wd@aol.com. They carry rebuilt motors, and many of the miscellaneous parts"". I have contacted them before, they had the brake bands in stock at that time. Need to redo mine at some point too. HTH
