Would love to dump my headers if these are Dauntless manifolds.

The one on the left 'could be' Dauntless - the other looks like its from a 231 or Fireball. They 'should' fit the Dauntless.

To remove the forward dump on stock manifolds - I used to use the Buick ones all the time.

BTW - If that's what your looking for - PM me if you need them. I believe I have a couple sets left in the box.

Those will work if you want to dump both sides to the rear assuming that you have saginaw steering. The one on the right is actually from a 231 and actually gives more clearance then a stock 225 one.

The price is reasonable enough to justify the 'should fit' theory. I have been tracking the Buick ones but they are much more expensive than these. If anything I can just by one Buick one and use one of these. I have no idea if the forward dump will work in my application. The forward dump is on the left side correct? Might be problematic with my saginaw. Thanks for the help.

Ah, Daryl and I were typing at same time. I do have saginaw. That's very useful info. Now I wait to see if the seller contacts me. Thanks again.

I usually get $45 apiece for them if that helps you on the pricing.

Ok here they are. Set me back two dozen dollars so I'd say I got a deal. Do the numbers mean anything to anybody?

Ok now the questions begin. Should I run this as a dual exhaust setup or Y into a single somewhere. I'm thnking dual and looking to have them dump just behind my rear wheels. Thinking I might be able to use my mufflers that are on my headers. I'm guessing space is an issue, anybody have any decent pics of their setup with Saginaw?

This kit looks awesome for tubing. Do I need 2.5"
Universal Mild Steel Dual Exhaust Mandrel Bend Kit, 2-1/2 Inch

    Thanks.

Any thoughts on the 2.5" mild steel kit?

The mild steel tubing rusts pretty quickly, and doesn't mention the tubing gauge. The anti-rust coating they mention is light oil to make sure it isn't rusted by the time it gets to you.
You would have to ceramic coat (or similar) to get any long term use out of a system made out of this tubing.
It might be better to look for a similar kit made in stainless after going to all the trouble to fabricate an exhaust system.
2 1/2" is pretty big diameter. A stock 225/231 would be fine with 2" or 2 1/4" for a dual system.

Don't know about the V6s, but the V8s benefit from a balance pipe when run into duals.

I would ask around about custom exhaust shops in my neighborhood. A shop can put together whatever kind of system you want. Unfortunately, it will be welded, so you won't be able to replace it piece by piece.

I was planning on welding it myself, kinda of looking forward to fabbing this up actually, although if I go stainless that could change things. Maybe I work it all out with the mild steel and make sure I like it, then down the road when it rusts (although I don't get much rust here in California) I replace it with stainless and make any changes at that point.

I could work out an H-pipe in the system if that's recommended. I'm looking for people's thoughts on the best setup with stock manifolds. I haven't started looking to see how to get the exhaust inside the frame rails and avoid the saginaw shaft yet, get over the cross member etc etc. I'm assuming that's going to be my limiting factor in what I end up with. Been googling trying to get some ideas. Several people are crossing over in front of the low part of the oil pan and y'ing into a single setup. For whatever reason my mind pictures two side exhaust exits just behind the rear wheels but I'm not opposed to a single setup if people are happy with them. My biggest motivation is getting the headers and mufflers out of the way of the rocks, and I wouldn't at all mind it being quieter and more mellow sounding.

The factory exit is directly under the rear corner, and with a down-turned tip.

Nice score on manifolds, that flat DS is the one I have it works slick for saggy conversion.

Thanks for the tip. Any chance you have a pic of the drivers side with the saggy? I'm not sure I can get that one to fit.
