Yukon vs Spicer Power Locks

    Does anyone have any first hand information about the relative merits of the Power Lock unit sold by Yukon compared to the original Spicer manufactured units? Does anyone know where these Yukon units are made and the quality of metallurgy going into them?

    When I talked to Paul at r-p 4wd he told me spicer quit making the powr-lok in 1997 and sold it to Yukon. I heard from other people that the new units are "ok" but not as good as the spicer units.

    This is accurate. I've seen them side by side and the casting quality is much better on the original Spicer units. They are heavier as well...
