Been having a hard time taking off the passenger side fender. All three bolt were jam tight, with my impact wrench and my rachet wrench nothing to do. I was able to use my little die grinder with a 2" blade and after almost 2 hour off try and error it was off.

Have this tool since my LS swap and been using it countless time ever since. I use it more than my 5" grinder, highly recommend it.

Yeah, i wasnt too a big fan....even if all the mechanic has been strongly modified i always wanted to stay as close as possible to an original body look. But now i was in need to put new fender flare and i know i will smash them out in the next 2-3 years.
Going with them, aluminium keep the wiegt down, wont rust and with the angle departure on the front they wont be in first line regarding tree trying to destroy them.

Rear passenger fender is bolted to the body. Still need to drill hole for drive side one.

Are you going to paint those new fenders or coat them some how? An aluminum to steel connection is a battery, corrosion will be quick with a little salt water thrown in.

    Yes that's in my plan.

My body is in fiberglass so corrosion is minimal.

I have a snow drag planned on march 12 but jeep will be on the trailer for transportation. And we have our annual election meeting in our 4x4 club on 19 march.

Painting of fender and body will occur after those 2 event.

Little work yesterday. Started working on the driver side fender, fastenning power steering oil cooler, air compressor and aux fuse box.

Finished working on the driver side fender. Have to move the vapor canister closer to the fender to allow the expansion tank to be fitted.

At least with flat surface it make fiting part easier :p

    273914644_1340120376506047_2770302999121911242_n.jpg

Also i didnt like the way the return hose was mounted from the power steering filter to the oil pump. Since i sell brass fiting as part of my business i work myself a elbow fiting, now the hose wont do a 90 degree bent that could have cause a kink relusting in a lost of flow. Maybe not the prettiest thing on the jeep but its fonctionnal.

    272199597_289031656509443_4482593504902242776_n.jpg

My milwaukee rachet was very helful yesterday drilling hole for the winch controler

    273250103_248870570661844_1750021969680797626_n.jpg

Now i have to work a new location for the hood latch. The design of the fender wont allow me to put them back in the Oem location. So i will need to figure out the best looking place to put them on.

I would have bent a piece of steel tube into a sweeping 90 degree fitting instead off using the brass elbow; there's a lot of fluid quickly moving through there that does not like making sudden direction changes- that means more heat and more back pressure. it will probably work without any noticeable problems the way you have it but it's upsetting my anal-retentiveness.

Yes it cross my mind, too much fiting. I will look over a better sollution to have less fitting.

As for heat building i dont think there will be a problem, i went a little overkill on the set-up ahah

Ps cooler is the left one, the other is for transmission (overkill there too)

All fender are bolted to the body. Need to go throught all the small detail

Started working on the hood latch. My first idea was to drill new hole in the hood so the hood latch would sit flat on fender.

I did start look over and i can bolt them trought the aluminium pipe. I'm giving me some time before drilling because i let it working my mind before making the move.

I also grap this week-end my new hood, for the price i pay i wont bother trying to repair the old one (you can see the work needed on previoux picture)

I'm feeling a little bad about cutting this brand new hood to put the loover on.

Take off the front fender, i need to fab a plate to cover the hole behing the shock tower. Now i face the problem with aluminium i dont have a welding machine for that material. Need to check with a friend of mine if he can tack weld them. i could go with rivet but i dont want anything that i could scratch my hand if i need to service around those.

New headlight has come in this morning. When i will have blackened every chrome part it will look nice.

I know these are cheap light from amazon, but anything will beat off the oem one. Good quality one are around 400$ a piece, too much for something i will use 3-4 time a years.

Couldn't wait for a first test fit during lunch

I cant say that i dislike it. All chrome element will go black so the result should be real nice.

Got my fender back from the welder guy. I had to cover the hole inside the fender that was factory cut for those running coil over.
