What is the best way to clean the inside of my under seat gas tank? Should the seams be resealed it does not appear to be leaking.

I pulled mine out and took it to a radiator shop to have it cleaned. It was cheap enough, and I have no fuel issues since.

I have never done myself but I have heard of people putting a handful of nuts and bolts in the tank and shaking it, and shaking it, and shaking it some more.

There are obvious dangers there so a radiator shop may be best. And the shop will have the proper equipment to do a better job.

I used a length of chain to clean mine out (easier to fish out a piece of chain than numerous nuts and bolts). I used the POR-15 kit to clean, etch, then seal the tank.

Worked VERY well and would highly recommend it. My local NAPA had the kit in stock.
