    It’s not a dual runner.
The ground is still hooked up to body, I’ll move it back to 1 of the grounds on the ECM.
I’ll look at the input signal from the CAM sensor pin outs and make sure it’s only reading my triggers.

Cycling the ignition switch will not cause the injectors to fire on either of the systems I have installed.
Cycling the key only primes the fuel pump.
Repeated cycling of the key does nothing after initial fuel prime.

I'll have to check mine, I'm pretty sure it needs the rpm input to fire the injectors. Cycling the key primes the pump but I don't think it fires the injectors any until the motor rotates.

Your correct, turning key on only primes the system, nothing coming out the injectors until motor cranks over then the CAM sensor triggers the injectors, (this is in place of the tach signal).

Did a little work on JEEP today. I connected the ground for the CAM sensor back into the ECM, and started going back through the basics, and checked the timing . I noticed that the timing was off when I set timing mark on TDC and confirmed by pulling #1 plug, the rotor was off by 2 teeth. I pulled and reset distributor. Tried cranking it over again and it continually popped through the TBI like I was 180 out. Checked timing again and found it was off by a couple teeth again. Pulled distributor to. reset it again and was being lazy so I was using the starter to bring it around to TDC and was watching the #1 piston to make sure I was on compression stroke, and it wasn’t moving. Put socket back on the bolt on the front of the crank and #1 piston moved, THIS ISN'T GOOD!
I started to pull front clip off JEEP so I can pull front of engine apart and figure out what’s going on.
Stand by for what I find.

That’s what I’m asking myself. I was getting 30lbs oil pressure while cranking motor over so I know cam gear is still intact. I’m hopeing that maybe the woodruff key came out when I put new harmonic balancer in. .:shrug: And not a broken crank.

Well if the cam is turning, so is the crank.

I seriously doubt you broke a crank. That would be a racket.

    Distributor gear looks good.
    IMG_4556.jpg

I have no real explanation as to why.
This was a brand new matched gear set from T.A. Performance not that long ago, I’m thinking that when they hardened the gears it wasn’t right. I also just got back my DUI Distributor right before I started the fuel injection install, maybe they had put on new gear and not used mine.:shrug::shrug:

I rolled motor over by hand by both the fly wheel and the crank bolt, everything looked good.

Likely didn't get the distributor seated all the way after restabbing it. New set and go.
Change the oil and filter, could have garbage in the pan, magnetic plug a +

Already dumped oil and pulled pan and cleaned it out, didn’t find anything. Also pulled oil pump apart to make sure no trash went through it, all good. Cut oil filter and didn’t find anything.
Got my list for T.A. Performance in the morning.

So we've eased back to DEFCON 3? Glad it wasn't worse. Makes you think about the what-if's though.

Ok back to where I started, installing fuel injection. I replaced the cam distributor gear and distributor drive gear with a matched set from TA performance. Dropped oil pan and cleaned it out. Took oil pump apart and cleaned it out and rebuilt it. New oil filter and oil and primed with drill. Got everything back together, set timing, turned key and it started right up. At first it would run for a few seconds around 1000 RPM then drop to 650 RPM and die. Once it got a little heat in the motor it started to idle between 600-700 searching for idle. Every time I gave it gas it would pop from throttle body. Talked with Kyle and we tried bumping fuel pressure up to 11.5 psi and did a IAC calibration. Cleared up popping when giving it gas.
    :bananatool::bananatool:
I kept smelling gas and realized that my return line to my front tank was spilling gas onto the top of tank, had to pull seat to get to the fittings to tighten up.
Also had the brass fitting I used on back of manifold spitting coolant, found it was split, I’ll fix this tomorrow after I get home from work. (First day back in almost 2 years, 2 knee surgery’s and 2 shoulder surgery’s).
Still haven't taken it for a drive.

I pulled the brass fitting off the intake and found that the coolant was coming from a crack in the intake manifold. So I took off the entire intake so I can see if I can get someone to TIG welded it.
Prior to pulling intake off I was pretty happy with the way the JEEP was running with the fuel injection set up, only complaint is it’s hunting for an idle. I calibrated the IAC before pulling intake and idle seemed to smooth out. Talked to Kyle and I might end up turning up the idle to match what Howell burnt into chip to see if this smooths it out.

this is where the crack is
