Have searched a bunch with zero results. My knob is white and flat on the top. There is no indication of any shift pattern ever having been on it. Any body know if it was ever put on the knob? This D20 came with a T-15 that was mounted to a 304. That should put it 72-75 only. Any help appreciated.

I have seen some on early Waggy's and PU's. Usually they get worn off though.

Waggy's, Pickups and Commando's used this pattern, and it did have the pattern on the knob, but as Nick said, it wears off easily.

I got my D20 from a J truck. Here's the knob...it's an aluminum disk on top with the pattern on it.

Yes, my J10 has a white knob with the pattern printed on top.

The only Jeep that would get the 304-short_T15-U-shift_D20 would be a '72 or '73 Commando. The wagons and J-trucks got this shifter, but with a V8 it would need the long input shaft T15 and a 5" thick spacer.

The knob is black and doesn't look much different than most shifter knobs from the Intermediate and early CJ years. The top is indented a bit where the aluminum piece fits. I wouldn't call it a press fit, it looks like very thin aluminum and I wouldn't be surprised to see that it's sticky on the back side. Seems to be on pretty good though...at least on mine.
