Does anybody have a nice exploded diagram/drawing of a '72-'75 vintage Dana 30 front axle? Just wanna make sure I understand where all the pieces go. And where's a good place to get parts for one? The outer bearings, seals, etc. Walck's doesn't seem to list parts for them. I can "probably" get what I need at the local NAPA, maybe.

You can get the bearings and seals at any local parts store...NAPA, Advance, AZ. I think the only thing I purchased from a Jeep parts vender was the outer washers and snap ring. I bought mine from 4WD.com

If you're picky about quality, USA made parts, Auto zone has the Timken (USA) wheel bearings(p/n SET45) but their timken seal was indonesian crap.

I had to go to Pepboys to get the good CR (USA) seal(p/n 51129)

Napa had BRG bearings(china) and SKF seals(CR usa) for almost twice the price

SKF bought out CR(Chicago Rawhide). The seals are still made in USA under the SKF name, but you have to look at SKF bearings to see where they are made.
The USA/Poland/Sweden made bearings are the good ones.

If you run across these FAG bearings, http://www.fag.de/content.fag.de/en/index.jsp
I hear they are good, but the name
Thanks to my grandfather and his buddies, they had to build a new factory.:flag:

Thanks DREDnot! Just what I needed! I may just go to a bearing supply house, I'd rather have quality parts than cheap parts.

FAG bearings are oem equipment on Mercedes and several other quality vehicles.
I agree about the name. My uncle is a Mercedes Tech and he is always laughing about it.:)
