Hi Guys! I had been wracking my brain regarding a next project~ I've done a few jeeps, so Gary said he'd like an early Bronco. So I sold our '59 Chevy truck and my '00 Dodge ram which gave me some working capital to get one going. Finding an early Bronco is rather perplexing to find(one in need of restoration) cause they're sold almost as soon as they're put on the market. One popped up a couple hours from us, so I bought it at 17.500. Kind of costly, but the darned things seem to be really high in just about any condition!

The 302 does run and was said to have been recently overhauled, but I see no signs of it being overhauled/refreshed, I just figure I'd have it re-overhauled unless when I pull the valve covers and they're pristine, meh, I'd really rather have this be an automatic transmission

I truly believe this was taken mudding before it was put on the market as it was MUDDY! I got it up on the maxjax lift and made an incredible mess pressure washing it as best I could. So at least this morning it will be cleaner when I begin dismantling it. I'd like it to be as nice as anything I've built.

I could have joined a forum for Bronco's, but I feel I've been here and you guys kind of know me and you can help me along the way. ;)

Yes, it needs floor pans and the floors are covered with that thick rubbery stuff which I hope my sandblaster can remove.

Cool rig! They are expensive to step into but It'll be worth more than double that when you're done.

Good find, Looks like a fun build. I don't know what that black rubberized material on the floor is but be careful sand blasting it it might have asbestos in it like some older undercoating's.

Looks like a good start Dne! It's gotta be tough spending that much out the gate, but like others have said, it'll be worth quite a bit more when you're done. I've always liked the early broncos, so will enthusiastically follow along with this build. Please continue to post up about it!

You see the rack on top, that thing is really heavy, but has 4 supports coming up from the bed where that it attaches/mounts. I used my crane to get it off and the help of my husband and brother came in handy too! that rack will be on FB market place soon enough~

I may take this to a body shop and have the rust repaired on it.

See this rear bumper, it's welded on:(
    [IMG]

part of me says keep it; other says it has to go!

If I go with an automatic trans(a big IF), I can change the column out to an Ididt column, probably get a new column anyways.

    The diffs seem so big!

Lastly, does this look like a radio hole? I cannot tell what the heck went here!

I'm going to spend the next couple days cleaning shop, need to make some room and get rid of some crap! ;)

Is that some kind of radio antenna in the bed?

Looks pretty decent from here. I always wanted one of these. I made the decision many years ago to go the JEEP route. Almost started with a Bronco but went JEEP. Looking at todays market, that was a bad decision, financially.

Anyhow, I like your Bronco. Anxious to see how this progresses. May the Force be with you.

my uncle really likes early broncos, and has tried to convince me that they are superior to jeeps. seems price is the one big difference, jeeps seem to be cheaper (unless they are in great shape)

Ok, cleaned up a little, then ended the day by putting the Bronco up on the maxjax to pressure wash once again, the underside~ omg, I was a mess!!!!!:lol:

Then again the roof rack ready to be put on FAcebook this upcoming weekend (y)

Then I got a picture of this bird, these birds are all over the place eating dead things;)

Tomorrow I'm going to seek a couple tires for the rear so I can possibly run the thing, then try to get the brakes working for the occasion. Just to run through the gears, you know;)
need to dry my hair and make din din, be back soon!

oh it's great to have another thing to work on!!!!!!!

I'm totally jealous of your lift. I think I'm over here living high on the hog with a concrete floored garage, but I still have to roll around on the ground.

I used to do the floor thing several years ago, then when the Maxjax's came out, I told my husband I have to have one! I have two and one extra column. These things are great and when you don't need it, you can unbolt it and move it wherever you want. Treat yourself to something to make life a little more fun and your hobbies even more fun, or less laborous;)
