    I know that I'm a day late and a dollar short, but this is the cover of my 1974 DJ-5 variant of the Dana 44:

    I still have all of the 10-inch brake parts back there, no changes made.

    Jen's diff cover looks different because it's an aftermarket cast aluminum piece with a stud girdle built in. Probably overkill for a Jeep but it's a nice piece. If you look at the overall shape it's definitely a Dana 44.

    Keep in mind if using the front backing plates on the rear 2 holes in each backing plate need drilled, the center hole may need opened up so the axle bearing and seal can pass through, and there will be no provision for the park brake cable.
