I don't think my jeep has original master cylinder from what I'm finding...everywhere I look for a master cylinder for a 72, the brake lines hook up on passenger side of reservoir. Mine hooks up on driver's side. It has drum brakes, but the MC I find that matches what mine looks like shows to be for 76 and later models with front disc brakes. Suggestions? Will it hurt to run this set up with drums on the front?[IMG][/IMG]

So after some additional reading today, this is what I've come up with...
The master cylinder I have is actually for a disc/drum setup, (one reservoir larger than the other, as disc brakes require more fluid in reserve than drums). So trying to use a master cylinder that's set up for disc brakes should be fine with a drum/drum system. I would like to eventually get this jeep back to as stock as possible, but for the time being, I just want to get it on the road. The easiest solution is to find a master cylinder for a later model jeep that had front disc brakes, so I don't have to redo the brake lines at the master cylinder. I'm headed to the parts house now.

This looks like it's not factory. Power brakes was an option starting in '72, but it seems like few of these Jeep have it.
