440/727... i need to figure out what rear-end came in these cars. what is in their looks like a 9" and i'm missing the 3rd member.

hopefully we can get everything back together before he gets back from Iraq in Feb.

Sweet, wish we had them in that condition up here.

Why is the dog named wrinkles? I don't see any wrinkles?

    Cool dog though

IIRC they came with a Dana 60 in the rear. Or was that the Hemi that had the 60.

    does a 8 3/4 hoave a 3rd member like a 9"?

Wrinkles is his name, cause Cat had never had a dog, much less a pitbull. when we got him he was around 8 weeks old and wrinkly.

    :iagree: What he said.
Frank the 8 3/4" is all but bullet proof. My '71 Road Runner 440/TF727 had one.

Yes Frank they do, you'll also have to watch which model you get as the units have 3 different pinion sizes, 1 3/8", 1 3/4" and 1 7/8" diameter. That car would have had the largest one and its a tapered shaft. Whatever 3d member you get should have the pinion snubber attached also. Casting numbers for the carrier 2881488, 2881489 (1969-1974) these are typically called a 489 carrier.
    This is a pinion snubber.
