PVC hose (orig label) vent

This hose is original on my 66 Tux and I was amazed to find the printing on it. "CRANKCASE VENT" and it's printed twice in white lettering but barely readable. Also the hose was positioned in place so that wording could be seen from top of engine. Was thinking about repainting lettering with white. What you think? Should I do it?

 

Walt, it's a generic hose. "Crankcase vent" just means it's rated for fuel and oil exposure, and not meant for coolant. The lettering was rolled on at time of manufacture with white ink. You should be able to find new replacement hose with similar lettering.

Restoring the lettering is not my idea of fun...

agreed, you should be able to replace the hose no prob.

even the most detailed restorations might not have those letters... and i can promise that the 104K m38 probably did not.

IF you want to do it, go for it. but i wouldnt mess with it. Easier would be to make a decal for it.... clear background, white letters... just make sure it isnt a high temp hose. the decal might not stick well.

 

Didn't know I could find it with lettering on it. Tnx will ask around FLAPS. The squirles had gnawed on it in couple places but not all the way thru.
