Ok now that I have found my Serial Number I need a new plate. What does a 62 Serial Number Plate or plaqard look like, and where can I get one?

Ebay often has blank ones for sale. Do you have a clear title?

Here's an example of a similar one:

There should be screws or screw marks where the old one was.

    There's a '62 nearby that's sorta abandoned:

I can snap a pic of the VIN plate if necessary.

    Mike,
    Yes.

Alan, no, that's not a '62 plate if my memory serves me correctly.

A '62 plate would say Willys Motor Co. and would be raised and all silver like the later Kaiser Jeep Corp., not flat like that one.

That one looks like my truck (now Sandhill's) VIN tag.

But it's been a few years since I looked at my '62. I'm trying to remember what the others at the show this weekend looked like and I think they looked like what I remember.

sparky yes you're right. That was all I could find on ebay tho. I guess it's not all that "similar" after all. I'll have to root thru that old Jeep to get a good pic. Maybe someone with a '62-ish could post a pic? (Billy, David?)

Don't see one on there that would match what you "need".

Hell I have one, reads Willys and it's a 62
Serial number. 57548 140029 It's been painted black and the jeep no longer exists.I bought the disassembled project kept the overdrive and new bits and sold the rest. I could hit it w/ brake cleaner and remove the black.
