I don't have a torch, other than a MAPP gas. Would that worki?

Regarding the Sawzall, I imagine I may miss a little, and bite into the spring. Is that OK?

    Thanks, Tommy Dean!

The springs are made of much better steel then a sawzall blade. You should be fine.

Anyone know if MAPP gas would work to take out the rubber?

It will pop out with the bushing you cut through with the sawzall

Can I ask a related question in this thread - here is a pic of the rear shackles on my 66CJ5 (same exact specs as yours Beach 66 Bum...):

    And the front:

I'm still in the tear down / "what in the world did the PO do" stage - do would like to know if folks think these are obviously aftermarket?

Also, sadly the left side frame rail seems to be slightly bent up above the front leaf spring attachment:

Gonna have to figure out how to bend that back to flat - I'd love some suggestions if anyone has any?

I might remove the spring hanger then c-clamp a stout steel bar on either side of the bow. Heat, then bend/hammer back into position. Really, Id just take it to a shop that fixes frames though. People who do stuff for a living learn stuff.

And for removing the sleeve from spring eye I used a hacksaw assembled inside the eye with cutting edge flipped.
