    I am very new to this, but hopefully you could assist me.

    I am most interested in this CJ 5 model 57548 125104. The owner tells me that it is a 1961. However I have some doubt about the authenticity of the Huricane engine which bear the number 4J 27907.

    From my limited knowledge the engine would come from a 1953 CJ 3B not a 1961.

    If this is not the original engine any idea of the number that the engine should have.

    Can anyone clarify

    I've never really tracked the engine numbers much with CJ-5s myself but looking at the 3B webpage I'd agree with what you surmise about the origin of this engine.
