    Thanks Clint!
I spent quite a while blowing out the spaces behind the boxed areas of the front frame before sand stopped coming out. I need to figure out something to spray in there to prevent the frame from rusting inside those nearly inaccessible areas. I think Eastwood may sell something for that, I'll have to check their catalog again.

With the weather so cold it takes days for each coat of paint to harden enough for handling. Right now I have finished with the primer, I used two quarts of the Eastwood Extreme chassis black primer to get two coats on both top and bottom surfaces of the whole frame. That required me to turn the frame over 4 times with a 3-4 day wait for each turnover. I'm looking at the same thing to get the two quarts of top coat applied, so the garage is tied up to at least the next 2 weeks with the plastic booth.

I just ordered a set of BDS 2 1/2 lift springs and shocks, they should be in by the time the frame is ready to come off the sawhorses. I also priced out a set of wheels and tires, I'm looking at 15x8, 3.75 BS in steel with a set of BFG MTs in 33x10.50. I think these should fit without to much rubbing except on the springs in full lock turn. Anyone have suggestions on these specs?

That's what I run, except in aluminum.

I think dnb5853 runs a BDS 2-1/2" lift with 15x8 wheels and 33x10.50 BFG. He has a D30 front, but I think also ran the setup on the D27.

    Hi Clint,
What a coincidence, I was about to do a search for my old thread. Because of the hosting change, the link I had wouldn't work anymore of course. So when I started a search I saw the thread back up in front from your post.

Not a whole lot of activity on the '69 lately. I have the rolling chassis re-assembled in the garage on the BDS springs, engine and trans are sitting on the mounts. I still have to plumb all the brake lines, fab up some new rock slider spring plates for the rear axle, and finish the full belly pan I made up out of 3/16 steel. It needs a notch to clear the front driveline.

The BDS 2 1/2 lift set was a bit of hassle, one of the rear springs was close to 1/2 more arch than the other, and I had to send it back. The replacement matched a little better, but there is still some lean. I set it up with the high side to the driver side, and hope they will settle evenly. If not, BDS assured me they would make it right. BDS also sent the wrong size U-bolts, it seems they think everyone runs a D30 and a flanged D44 because that is what the U-bolts would fit.
The body is still on the rotisserie, I still have to do block sanding on the primer before color coat.

I sure hope to see you make it out for Rubicon '12. I will probably take the Yellow Barn Find again for this year, no way the '69 will be ready by then.

Wow! I hadn't realized how much work you had put into that tub. Some really great work and attention to detail. Can't wait to see the whole thing put back together!
