Long time listener -- first time caller...

After an embarrassingly long absence from ECJ5, I decided I had let the white CJ2A sit too many years unfinished. My first 2A "Putt putt" (my avatar) was sold to a very good friend a few years ago because I was out of work and it was sitting. I had acquired my friend's white 2A "in his divorce" which is fairly solid and had a half finished Dauntless in it (from my CJ5 donor sitting in the back yard for the past 10 years).

Yeah, I have a Jeep problem!

So I have been working on the Dauntless 2A for a couple weeks which is progressing!

    Engine positioned and welded down
Headers mounted and clear the frame
    Fenders trimmed
Figured out a modernized radiator setup

Tonight, I ground the manifold and test fit the HEI! Also dusted off the MSD 6AL on the shelf

Piecing it together! Anyone tell whats wrong with the picture?

Woo hoo -- found an Odd-Fire HEI in a box of stuff -- forgot I had it! I think it was from 10 years ago when Brian (Termin8ed) and I parted-out a rusted out CJ5 in a backwoods Michigan boneyard. That proved valuable holding on to that! Also found another GM alternator that the case is "clocked" correctly -- i have like 5 of these now?. Missing Buick starter bolts 3/8-16X5; 3/8-16x2

Also solve the crank balancer bolt mystery -- missing, so what size is it? Not 3/4-16 , but 9/16-18 x 1-1/2 ( Bolt head is 15/16). Local hardware, Grade 8 Zinc $3.59

I had so many missing nuts and bolts on this thing that I have been re-inventing the wheel.
