I noticed that the crank pully only has one groove but the water pump has two. Is the p/s pump run only off the w/p or do you guys have a double pulley on the crank to. I will be calling the junk yard soon for the p/s pump and backets, so if i need one i'll get it then. Thanks again.

I've mostly seen a double on the crank, but the waterpump sounds familiar too for some reason. I don't think it would matter as long as you have the right sized belt.

It runs from the crank pulley, which should be a double pulley.

X2. My 225 has a 2 groove harmonic balancer, and a 1 groove water pump pulley.

I'm going through the same considerations, as my p/s conversion is scheduled to get thick next week. I considered running a 3 pulley power steering setup, HB->WP->PS, cause of the belt redundancy it gives the water pump. Didn't look like the grooves would line up for me though.

At this point in time, to keep all the proper offsets on the pulleys, I went with the configuration my donor car had (HB to PS pump).

I think most L heads had one groove and F's had two.

My 225 has a dbl. pulley on the crank and on the water pump. One belt goes to the P.S. and one to the alternator, both via the water pump. Buick made three grove pullys for the crank. You just have to search a junk yard if you need one. Watch out for different sized ones though. You need to keep the alternator up to speed.
