You might not like the Swampers since your Jeep sees a fair amount of street time. Rough ride and they tend to flat spot some (for me anyways). On the dirt & rocks they're great though.

Not sure what I have in mind, something skinny though. Needs a real early Jeep stance to it :D

got the rad inlets swapped from one side to the other to accomidate the new 5.0. I trimmed the grill down as far as I could to give as much room as possible...(got 3" from face of pulley to face of rad)
Had to mount the grill just to feel and see like I'm making progress
    [IMG]
put another power steering pump on and got the pressure hose modded to fit it. Gathering parts for the OBA. gonna start wiring this weekend....gettin closer

I used a 1975 grill when I put the Buick 350 in mine.
The rad front is about 2: from the front of grill.
Used a converion rad made for a chevy 350 and it was a direct bolt in. Top hose on driver side and lower on pas side it also has trans cooler hook up
Will get some pictures on sat.

Here, eyeball the dimensions on my old 304; note how the radiator fits into the grille more than the early style:

well got alot done this weekend, but still have lots to do.
It became obvious that my belt wasn't gonna work after taking out the smog pump....either needed a idler pulley or......I took the pump apart and gutted it , reinstalled the pump and belt.
I lowered the radiator about 3/4" more, gives me the clearance to mount a rigid 15" fan now.
I installed the front fenders and started hooking up the computer harness , gonna read a bit more on that.
I installed the rear tank, but w/ the wider shackles I've got clearance issues that are gonna need a BFH to fix:rofl:
Still have a bunch to do but it's getting there

my front shackle mounts needed to be moved forward.....they didn't lean back as much as I thought they would w/ the weight of the motor . After talking to sdcj6 I decided to make a plate to mount under the ubolts to keep them from sliding as well[IMG]
I also decided to mount the shocks to the top spring plate....I used 5/8" bolts and turned down the ends to 1/2"
I welded the bolt to the plate and mounted them up......looks like it's gonna work well
    [IMG]
should be able to use my original shocks now too :)

Great progress but I don't think I'd rush it for next weekend, unless you have all week to work on it. Those last-minute thrashes are when things we think are finished aren't. And they tend to bite you when you least expect it.
