    I took the pedals into work today and modified them at the shop. Here they are as I recieved them

    the brake arm didn't line up w/ the master so I ground off the weld and moved the arm 1/2" to the right on the rod....here's my welder helping the Boss :)

    We also removed 4" from the arms to shorten the throw. As you can see in the pic they came out great....I'll paint them tonite and install tomorrow

    Hopefully have this and the hydro clutch set up by the weekend so I can install the drivetrain next week :beer:

    I worked on the fit of the swinging pedals over the weekend, but after seeing the amount of work to get the pedals offset enough I decided to put that set aside rather than butcher them up.
    This is the hanging brake pedal I was useing before

    I decided to modify these to work for the clutch and brake. I picked up a piece of pipe and bushing to attach the arm to.....got a 5/8" bolt w. enough neck, and added a third support to the base

    I used a length of 3/8" plate cut 1 1/2" wide by 18" long for the arm....simply heated w/ a torch and bent to match the brake arm. I used the pad from one of my old clutch pedals and welded a offset to the back , then welded it to the arm and the arm to the bushing

    When the pedals are hanging they are even and square. I'm gonna put a return spring from the top of arms to the base for return.
    Just need to mount these up now to get the proper placement for the clutch master/plunger

    finally have the pedals hung and clutch master installed. I figured 4-5 hours total :rofl:.....week and a half later.....

    just need to figure out a spring return on the clutch pedal, and it'll be done

    It took a little longer, but it's always best to do it right. Chances are, you'll never have to deal with it again.

    Don't kill yourself on the clutch return spring. Most of those CNC, Wilwood, and factory clutch masters have an internal return spring that'll pop up the pedal once it's filled and bled.

    I didn't need to run return springs on my flattie with the Wilwood setup, or on the CJ-6 with the factory YJ master. I don't think I put one on my J2000 (running a stock TJ master), but I can check once the sun comes up.

    Checked the J2000 with the factory TJ clutch master and I did take off the return spring. No return spring other than the internal one in the master, and that's a big, heavy pedal in that beast. Cross the pedal install off your list and move ahead!

    got some garage time today so decided to start motor/trans/ TC for install.
    I purchased a new flywheel , but when it came the holes in the clutch housing didn't line up so they gave me this instead

    bolted it up, installed the clutch, went to put on the bellhousing and.........:mad: you guessed it the flywheel OD was too big , Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
    Went back and got the other flywheel but I'm gonna need to drill and tap new holes for the clutch housing......tomorrows project I suppose

    Aaah, you mean the pressure plate? If that's what you're talking about, I'd bag it and get the right parts. If you're off by just a little it'll put that big, heavy pressure plate out of center and you'll have a 20 lb eccentric slinging your crankshaft main bearings into oblivion. should be a pretty good shaker.

    yea three of the holes line up perfectly, their partner holes were off so I'm pretty confident I can drill and tap those and it will remain perfectly centered.

    I went ahead and worked on the flywheel today. As you can see in the first pic I had three bolts to line up the pressure plate with

    I centered the 3 holes necessary for tap and used a 5/16" drill bit to mark the spots. Drilled out the holes and used a 5/16" tap to finish off the threads

    got the flywheel and clutch installed, then bolted the tranny and TC up tonight

    gonna make a bracket to hang the push clutch slave on

    then we'll put it all back in the Jeep....gettin excited!

    I think you need a couple more pulleys and other stuff hanging off the front of that motor. Heck it looks like it would take 75 horse power to run all that stuff.

    gonna pull the air pump, that'll get rid of one....think it will help R)
    that's how I feel looking at the computer harness :rofl:

    got the trans crossmember installed tonight. I cut down some square pipe to make hangers for the cross

    I bolted them up to the frame useing grade 8 hardware....I dropped it a 1/2" more than it was to give me more OD shift linkage clearance (sorry bout the crappy pics)

    The cross attaches to the trans w/ a 3/8 plate that also bolted to the trans mount...worked lots better than what I had before

    when you remove the air pump are you going to use a idler pully in its place or going to try and find a shorter serpintine belt
