I've removed the differential on a dana 35...all that is left is the pinion gear, rear bearing cup and the rear bearing still in the pumpkin...the front bearing and bearing cup, shims and etc. were destroyed to pieces.

how do i remove what's left of the pinion gear assembly out of the pumpkin?...it seems that the bearing cup is pressed in the case and the bearing is pressend on the pinion gear shaft.

this is my first time dismantling an axle so any help is appreciated...

You might have to clean things up a bit to see them, but there are 2 small notches in the case that allow you to put a long punch on the inside edge of the race and drive it out of the case. Tap a little on each side to get it to stay fairly straight as you drive it out. The bearing on the pinion is a light press fit. From what you are describing the pinion shaft should practically fall out of the housing. Once you have the pinion shaft out you will need a puller (at least) or a press to get the bearing off of the shaft.
