i parked my cj 75 in the rain for a few days.
when i started the engine....zero blood pressure!!
i thot it was instrument error as the needle
didn't even come up to zero.
i let it sit for a couple of days in the sushine
    and it worked fine.
loose connection or bad panel instrument?
    what should i do?

First off.......Don't scare us like that !........zero oil pressure is bad juju

Assuming you have an electrical oil pressure gauge, I would put my money on either a bad sending unit or wiring...

If I not mistaken, a couple of jumper wires from the battery to the respective terminals on the gauge..only for a moment...will move the needle over to the other side of the gauge to prove that the gauge is OK.

The sending units are the usual culprit here. They are available from your local FLAPS.

The right way to test the gauge is to jumper in a fixed resistor in place of the sending unit. The manual has the resistance equivalents for specific pressure readings. (Of course, Jeep supplied a special tool at great profit to them, but you can use resistors from Radieux Shaque just as well). I'd think that putting a jumper on the gauge terminals would be very risky.

JMO - replace the stock electric gauge with a Stewart-Warner full-sweep mechanical OPG (or an equivalent quality gauge).

    whooo....
    what is FLAPS?
and i take it that JMO is just my opinion!!
    i have two WWII jeeps
and they have the mechanical oil gauges!!
    thanks for your times

If your lifters aren't tap dancing, chances are that it's your sending unit or gauge.
