1968 CJ5 Jeep
Looks really nice. A little odd mentioning the spare tire, tow bar, and back seat but no pictures of those.
What caught my attention was the four speed and V6...
If you need your wife’s approval, need not bother....
From the pictures, it looks to be a nice Jeep. V6, T18, PS. Sounds nice.
I hate the steering wheel, but otherwise...
And the rear bumper.
Am I wrong? Did the mid to late Jeeps come OEM with the Muffler exposed and Tailpipes ahead of the rear tires ? This is the third one this week that says " Completely Original " and it's only Monday morning ! BTW , the new paint job looks nice, too.
always my favorite
Definitely not for this one posted. Lots of the 1966-68’s with the Dauntless v6, guys would add headers and set the exhaust exit in front of the rear wheels.
Mine was like that but now exits straight out the back.
That's no 1968 in my book. My '68 has the narrower glass and top mounted wipers windshield.
I submit that it might be a '69.
Also, isn't saying "Running a 225 Buick V6 "oddfire" " a misnomer? That leads uneducated people to think it's running a non-factory motor.
It was a Kaiser-Jeep engine at that time.
Looks like a tilt column swapped in with the power steering.
And doesn't claim to be 100% original: "Mostly stock/original with many updates over the years. "
I think it's a 68.
69 would have the larger front turn signals.
It's pretty easy to swap a windshield.
Aha. Good eye, Colojeepguy. I thought the larger turn signals were an AMC thing.
My 69 has the tiny turn signals. I think it was a mid year thing.
The arch too glass didn't go on anything earlier than 1970 though I bet. Of course mine has it now because it's better!
My dad's 69 has the large turn signals and arched windshield. It's all original.
Jeep factory must have been like a garage sale that year.
EVERY year, I think
