1966 Dauntless 225

Hello all new to the forum and need some help. I'm rebuilding my grandfathers 66 cj5. It has a dauntlass 225 in it. I took the engine apart and found a crack in the cylinder head thats unrepairable. The part number for the head is B-1376348. Thing is I'm have a heck of a time finding a replacement head. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find one. Any help is appreciated.

 

Post an ad wtb here someone probably has a few. Otherwise I routinely see core whole engines on FB marketplace for a few hundred.

A '66 belongs in the Early forum. You might get a better response there. The mods will probably move your post.

As Rich suggest, you can post in the want-to-buy (WTB) forum here, and you'll likely turn up one. There is a Jeep junkyard, J&W, near Sacramento that very likely has one. Private party will be cheaper, maybe even for a complete engine.

Where are you located in California? I think I know where a rebuild set is sitting.

About 2 hours north of L.A.

I have a couple heads you can have for free if you're willing to pay shipping... That might be spendy though.

Don't think you're too special though as I would give them away to anyone that wants to pick them up or pays for shipping.

 

If they are good heads id have no problem paying shipping. Do you have pics by chance?

See if NorCal can hook you up. What I have are used and probably need a rebuild. They will work for sure, but ..

they aren’t going anywhere.

 

I bought a bunch of stuff a while back from this guy. Heads were rebuilt 10 yrs ago and just sat under the bench awaiting install that never happened. They will cost you $150
