This is the tub we got for it last weekend. It will need floors and a few patches. Got 2 grills, 2 hoods, 7 fenders. Should have plenty of parts.

Nice of you to say. Maybe you said it because it's yours.

Just checked the serial number. Found out it's a 1960, not a 61.

i'll add to what my dad posted. after we tore the body off we found out that the frame was not in such great shape. so we made a trip to west virginia and picked up a frame, axles, trans, t-case, engine, and driveshafts from a cj3a. all for only $100. on the was there we stopped in kentucky and picked up a vortec 4.3 out of a 1995 s-10. so we tore down the 3a rolling chassis today. if i could figure out how to post pictures i would, but i cant so i'll just leave that to him.

    And one of the 4.3.

Tiptoptune2 dropped off a set of swinging pedals on his way back to Colorado from New England. Thanks Ken.
This was the master cylinder off of the 3A frame. Anyone know what it's from?

Didn't do any actual work this winter but did research and sourcing. The 4.3 I picked up was out of a 95 S-10. When sourcing a flywheel found out the was an early and late model in 95. No indications of what the cut off was or what the difference was. Found this site: http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Article/2427/rebuilding_the_new_chevy_262.aspx
Lots of good info. The difference is mid year the changes to a heavier balance shaft. That changed the flywheel. Easy way to tell is the late model has a plastic coverwith 6 bolts, the early is tin with 10 bolts. This is a late engine. I decided to stay with the T-90 instead of going with the NP-435. I had an adapter for the T-90 to GM but it was the short one. With the rear distributor the firewall will be in the way without moving the entire driveline forward. Called Herm to get a price on the long adaptor and he had a used one that I got for $60. That requires using the T-90C input shaft which he had new. Another advantage is it is a 1 1/8 10 spline so I can use the factory 4.3 clutch. Got the tranny and t-case rebuild stuff and a steering linkage change over kit from him while I was at it. I already had a bell housing also but...the 4.3 uses an 11" clutch. The bell I had won't fit the flywheel. Novak has the part numbers for the large bell. Found one on E-bay for $50.00 local. The 3B frame was getting a little thin so I picked up a CJ3A frame. It had the threaded shackle mounts on it so I got all new unthreaded mounts from Walcks. 4WD Hardware had a 20% off sale so I picked up a 2 1/2" Superlift lift kit from them pretty reasonable. They have a store here locally so zero shipping. Picked up a set of hanging pedals and a set of Transdapt engine mounts off of guys on the forum so procurement is going along nicely.
