I'd say it's probably a safe bet that 1955 Jeeps didn't have turn signals. Or heaters. Just the bare essentials.

Has it been converted to 12V and are your park and tail lights dual element or do you have two separate lights each side on the back?

Lots of Jeeps have been fitted with the generic "boat trailer lights" and the Jeep retailers offer them as a generic replacement tail light. They're cheap, they work, and they resemble the original lights.

Not sure what year that cars were required to have turn signals. I expect that a '55 was only required to have a running light and stop light on the drivers side (in one unit) and a reflector on the passenger side. Electric turn signals may have been a dealer add-on, like pickup trucks of the era.

The CJ-3B page has some history of brake lights. http://www.film.queensu.ca/cj3b/Dating/Taillights.html Maybe you want the ALA taillight? Check with Waclks http://www.walcks4wd.com/catalog.aspx?keyword=tail light They show a Hall and Neco tail light, but no ALA. Maybe they have the ALA - their page is buggy and does not show all the products.

You are talking about the rears, correct? Do you have pictures?

They can have them, (55's turning signals were optional) the owner's manual for 55 wiring diagram has them included, with a side picture of the wiring harness without them (both taillights though). My 55 has them with original cloth wiring.

The NACO repros Walck's has may be as close as you get, unless you find NOS on ebay (usually expensive).

Ya, my bad but thanks for the help, i was talking about the lights on the grill that i think there called marker lights.

Tail lights didn't fit either but i measured and i think i need blackout light for them to fit properly. The hole is 5 inches the same size as a local M38A1

These are what you need:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TURN-SIGNALS-JEEP-WILLYS-2-pieces-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ110563360365QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories A bit spendy IMO. I'm sure this guy has some, he bought three 48' trailers full of parts a while back: http://burlington.craigslist.org/cto/1874085414.html You can place a WTB ad too. I'll go out on a limb here and say most used set will need rewiring. Stock will be for single element bulb. Stock operation is "on" at first detent of the light switch, and they go off when the headlights are on. Wired thru the turn signal switch also.

Yes, the hole in the '55 grill is the same as the M38A1 grill but with the addition of a strap to screw the lights to.. There were two different styles of the markers with chrome rings, these '55 style have been showing up on EBay quite a bit lately (just bought a set myself)-

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/TURN-SIGNALS-JEE...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19be16fe6d

and starting in '59 or so a slightly smaller but similar unit was used. Those I believe lasted up to '67 when they went to the big orange ones..

For the '55-'59's there are different units for turn signals or no turn signals, the difference being one or two contacts in the bulb socket.

Ah, took me a while to remember where I'd seen these-

    http://www.willysjeepparts.com/Parking_Light.htm

    You'll be wanting assembly p/n's 809659/809660 (for reference bezel/lens 119204/119205 @ Jungle J's) if below s/n 73568, 916893/916894 (718140/718138)if after that.

    Good luck,

    H.

Edit- Ooops- looks like I was wrong on the years- they appear to have gone to the big orange lights in '65. Oh well, can't be right all the time
