You know, I'm developing a taste for "period correct" customizations. Although not original, they are often interesting.

Looks great Ron. Is that the dash I saw pass through here? The color looks like my wifes 86 Renegade - or what it should look like.

 

Mike . no he didn't use the dash that came with speedo . he had already repaired/modified his original dash for the steering column
that one is in my garage . waiting for someone else to need it .
I think the original year speedo sets it off . many thanks for helping us out

and now he's playing with the steps that were on jeep

these had nuts welded in hat channels . stock item ?

well project creep . guys retired so I think he doesn't want to finish
he got seats back from reupholster . 350 per seat
well he can't leave anything normal . as you will see
driver seat not bolted down yet


I said all right . lets put some gas in it . and take it around block
his response . It's not ready yet

 

wow last post on this was Sept 2019 . took a little to find it
well I got to say this has to be a record for project creep . he had serious heath condition a while back
anyway to the point . got a set of rims back in November . had to wait a month for LH lug nuts . back-ordered
his son and wife bought him tires to go with rims . in December (xmas)
so been pestering him steady for months to take tires and rims to shop
he gave Dan two rims awhile back , hoping this would get him going again . still dragging feet
rim 16X7 tire 245.75-16 . jeep will never see any dirt . so off road tires not needed
got 5 mounted and balanced . still he's not ready to put all for them on jeep . did I say project creep
did get him to ( I did ) hang one on for fit . I mean it was missing a tire anyway
he's still in no hurry well I don't want new tires on wheel dollies he said
so I guess . I'll be getting it on jack stands , just to get the new tires on it




his scrambler hasn't been out of garage for more than 2 years . he said it needs a battery

 

Sounds like that John Steinbeck character, who lived in a boat he was rebuilding, on dry land.

He never finished working on it because he was afraid of water.
