Bead Roller Drive For Cheap

Bought a bead roller and the drive kit was crazy money, so I used the YouTube for inspiration. less tan fifty bucks for the winch and twenty for a speed controller. It just needs a foot pedal and suitable power supply other than a battery never mind the crappy welds he is just learning. they have been redone.

 

Great Idea. Got an old cheap one, I welded supports on it and was going to put an old steering wheel on in place of the crank. Never got back on it. Your design looks much more useable. Also, I have a small Grizzly English Wheel that I need to shim the slack out of and practice more with.
I like the idea of the foot pedal. Had an old garage door opener I was going to use, but never got around to modifying it. This looks useful. I wonder if a power inverter would work or if it would give enough current like 12V power supply.
Looks inventive and useful.

It has a fifty amp breaker in the power line I have a thirty amp supply I’m going to try. It was surprisingly easy the drum on the winch was drilled to one inch and it slides right on the shaft of the bead roller.
