Hell, I dunno, if somebody showed up with $5500 Cash.

Yep, it's mine. I've just lost interest. I've not even driven it in any real manner in almost 2 years, and I'd rather see it go to a good home, where it will be driven, than to sit here and rot in my driveway.

http://www.earlycj5.com/xf_cj5/index.php?threads/88543/ Whole buncha Pictures in there, it still looks like that.

I can promise it runs well enough to get it on a trailer, probably runs well enough to drive it across town, but as it sits, I wouldn't try driving it any further than that.

Located in Bellevue, Washington, Clean Washington Title

    What is it?
1970 Jeep CJ5, 225 Dauntless, T98 Transmission, Dana 18 Transfer Case, Flanged Dana 44 in the Back, Dana 27 in the Front, Factory 3.73 gears open Differentials front and rear, Rough Country (I think, might be Tuff Country) 4" Lift Springs, Factory rear fuel tank.

    The Good:

    Chassis:
    - Front Dana 27 has been converted to the GM K20 Disc Brakes, using the 7/8" Thick Rotors, 2-hole Knuckle on the passenger side, all bearings and seals in the Wheel ends were replaced at the time, and axle painted matte black. Warn M2 Hubs. (Appx 1000 Miles Ago)
    - Rear Dana 44, Converted to 11" Bendix Brakes, the Provision is there for the Emergency Brakes, but there are no cables installed, Axle Bearings/seals were replaced at that time, and housing cleaned up and painted matte black. (Appx 1000 Miles Ago)
    - Ford Econoline Disc/Drum Master Cylinder replaced the original single pot, Pedals are still through the floor.
    - 16" Wheels, Powder coated, with good tires on them, they're cheap chinese tires of some sort, and roughly 5 years old at this point, but they've never leaked (Appx 1000 Miles Ago)
    - Saginaw Steering Conversion, Steering Box came out of a wrecked intermediate CJ, Mounted with Advance Adapters weld-on mount, all new tie rods and ends, Bellcrank has been removed from front crossmember
    - New Shocks (Nothing Special, cheap oil-filled stuff from NAPA) (appx 1000 miles)
    - New Rancho Steering Stabilizer
    - Leafs have been removed from the leaf packs, so it won't knock your fillings out.

    DriveTrain:
    Dauntless 225, unknown mileage
    - Offenhauser 360 Dual Port (I'm pretty sure) Intake Manifold
    - Offenhauser Valve Covers
    - Holley Truck Avenger 470 4Bbl Carburetor
    - Delco Distributor, with Pertronix Module, and Pertronix Flamethrower ignition coil
    - Delco 10SI (Maybe 12SI? I can't remember) single wire Alternator conversion
    - Saginaw "Ham Can" Power Steering Pump
    - Driver's side exhaust manifold has been replaced with a rear-dump manifold from a Skylark or something
    - Clutched Mechanical cooling fan setup, from a Volvo 740, with Shroud
    - All-new Exhaust, from the collectors back, done by Lifetime Muffler in Renton, WA, Single Dump to the rear passenger side, really nicely done.
    - New aftermarket OEM Style fuel pump

Borg Warner T98 Transmission, unknown mileage (installed roughly 150 miles ago)
    - New LUKS clutch kit installed
    - Flywheel resurfaced
    - Hydraulic Clutch setup, utilizing a Wilwood Master Cylinder, and a Speedway Motors "Pull Type" Slave Cylinder

    Dana 18 Transfer Case
    - Converted to dual-stick with OEM Parts, interlock pill removed
    - Novak Master Kit installed, all new bearings and seals (roughly 150 miles ago)
    - Novak Aluminum Pan
    - Parking Brake removed from Transfer Case
    - New Tom Woods Driveshafts, front and rear

    Body:
    - New Windshield Glass and Gasket, and Cowl Hinge Gasket (Appx 1000 miles ago)
    - Bestop Low-Back Seats
    - Bestop Supertop (Appx 8 years old, windows are still clear, always cleaned with Bestop's Schmoo)
    - Jeep XJ Steering Column
    - Rock Hard 4x4 Bolt in Rollover Hoop https://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-1010.htm
    - Advance Adapters Windshield Latches
    - Glass Lens H4 headlight conversion (I think I installed a headlight relay setup, but I can't remember, if I didn't, I've got a replacement relay wiring setup that I will include)
    - Summit Racing Mojave heater
    - No Major Dents or Damage

    The Bad:

    Chassis:
    - Leafs have been removed from the spring packs, so it won't knock your fillings out.
    - The upper stud on the rear passenger shock mount is broken, and the nut is only grabbing about 2 threads.
    - The Front Crossmember could probably use some attention, where the steering shaft goes through the crossmember after the saginaw conversion, I just never got done with that detail.

    Drivetrain:
    Engine:
    - The valve guides in the heads are shot, it smokes pretty good on decel, especially once it's warmed up.
    - The Rear Main seal on the engine leaks. I actually replaced it when I did the transmission swap, and apparently I screwed it up.

    Transmission:
    - The synchros were *really* sticky when I installed the transmission, so at the moment, it has a combination of GL4, Marvel Mystery Oil, and a touch of diesel fuel in it. It shifts fine now, but if I don't get to draining and refilling with GL4 before it sells, it's something the new owner would want to do.

    Transfer Case:
    - It leaks. It's a Dana 18, it will probably always leak, but perhaps the next owner can make that not happen anymore.
    - The Front driveline is not currently installed, because I just never got around to putting it in, after swapping the transmission.

    Body:
    - Drivers and Passenger footwell floorboards are rotten, I *think* the hat channels are alright
    - The Dashboard is swiss cheese, after who knows how many prior owners drilled holes in it, and I believe it's currently only holding together, due to the piece of aluminum diamond plate tech screwed to it.
    - The wiring is a bit of a rat's nest, everything works, but it's not great.
    - There is a rust repair in the passenger side sill plate that wasn't done very well, and the passenger rear quarter, where another rust repair in the "Spare Tire" location was done poorly (by yours truly)
    - The paint is almost non-existent. Granted, it was almost non-existent when I bought it, and I've done nothing to improve it.
    - The Transmission Tunnel plate needs to be modified for the transmission swap (Shifter location moved back appx 4" from where the T14 was)
    - The upper mounting for the XJ Column is solid, and it works, but it is janky, it's somethign I always meant to redo.

    The Extras:
    - Koenig Iron Works Hard top, complete, glass is all there, but it could stand to be replaced, as can the window channels
    - Extra set of Cylinder Heads (not ready to run)
    - Factory Rear Seat (untouched, no rips, but it's been out in the weather)
    - Leafs removed from the Spring Packs will be included, if you wanted to put them back in
    - Extra Factory hood, with the Snorkel Provision
    - Fuel Tank Skid Plate (Currently not installed, roughly 1/8" thick formed steel)
    - Set of Selectro Hubs that were on it, when I bought it
    - Replacement Dashboard, which is in better shape, but *does* have a hole poorly hacked into the middle of it, for some past radio installation or such, easily fixable.
    - Set of BestTop half-door metal frames (Fabric is gone)
    - Some random other bits, I can't recall all what I've got sitting in the garage

I'm not really interested in parting out any of the extras. At the moment, This is a take it all sort of deal, especially since I'll be needing to make a trip to Montana to get the Hard Top, Rear Seat, Extra Hood, and Fuel Tank skid plate. Perfectly willing to go get them, I just don't want to keep them sitting around for forever.

Any other questions, just ask. I can get current pictures of things, if there's something specific you want to see.

For those of you that may or may not be thinking about it, all of the "Extras" I listed, are now here with the Jeep, rather than being 1300km away.

    And yes, it's still available

I think this seems like a pretty square deal. Lots of the best upgrades are done.

I just realized, I missed a couple of the "extras" while I was digging through my garage, and my shed.

NIB uninstalled Energy Suspension Poly Bushing kit (I believe it includes all the body mounts, spring eye bushings, etc)

A set of brand new "Greaseable" shackle bolts that I made, but never got around to installing, because I never got around to doing the spring bushings

Set of 4 Kelsey-Hayes 15x8 Rims. I don't know, and won't certify that these are "Renegade Wheels" but they are stamped Kelsey-Hayes, and in pretty good shape, no rot or rust, they're not out of round. I've never had tires mounted on them, or on a rig, I acquired them a couple years ago off of a Marketplace deal.
