I upgraded to a D44 in my 98 XJ from a 88 XJ and in the move to FL I seem to have lost some parts along the way.. I lost the parking brake levers and the strut and spring. Getting ready for a junkyard crawl and hoping to find these. Is there any way to cross reference these brakes to other vehicles? SO far the internet has not been helpful but i'm probably doing it wrong haha..

Not sure if would work in this case but I sometimes use Rockauto to cross reference parts and part numbers.

I can find the part numbers. Look in the 88J parts book on the Tom Collins site. 5-975.

    8350 4306-7 lever L-R
    8350 4372-3 strut L-R
    8350 4310 spring

This is Cherokee, Commanche and Wagoneer with the 44. The 35 is different.

Online search, the levers and springs came up as Crown, and the struts came up lots of places that claim Mopar parts inventory. Jeep dealer may be able to get them, as a last resort.

These might be the same as the last CJs with the 44 and 10" brakes. The 88J book only includes the YJ with the 35. YJ export with the 44 is the same, but unlikely you'll find one of those. The 81J book (also at Tom COllins) should show both the M20 and 44 CJ with 10" brakes. If those match, you could look up the linings or drums for these vehicles at RockAuto and see what else might be a suitable donor.

These are 10x2.5. Drums are shared with some AMC passenger cars Hornet Matador. Seems unlikely they were sourced from Bendix. If you are thinking about the Kaiser era 10x2 CJ brakes, those are Wagner not Bendix. Different design; they won't work.

The OP could do some more research and see which hardware kits are shared with the 44 C/C/W brakes referred to above. Likely those apps would use the part numbers listed above.

I expect these 8-digit part numbers (8350 xxxx) are Chrysler-era generated, not Jeep. New design.

OK, so you guys definitely led me the right way. These are Bendix 10 x 2-1/2" with 481 shoes. Compatible with 623 vehicles, in two general categories. A bunch of jeeps from the 80's and a bunch of full size Ford/Lincoln/ Mercury cars from that same era.. At least now I have a start..

    Thanks!
