    I know that's Patton's Jeep, but I don't care for the modifications.

The lug nuts are green! No way that's original paint.

This, I think. No way it's "original" paint. I suppose "all stock" would have been better wording.

Totally agree! Plus, I would rather see original, faded paint and it's truly original condition.

Well I guess I was wrong to think that “original” means from the point of origin.
We can still put it in a national museum.

I agree the jeep has been repainted. However it is the original color for a 53 CJ 3B. Looks exactly like the factory color on the one my Brother had.

It's a nice looking Jeep, and maybe the work that's been done is all top notch, no clue. I don't have any problem with somebody restoring old iron. I just have a problem with them misrepresenting what it is. Sort of like all of these "barn finds"

Trying to remember if my brothers 3B had the wipers under the glass or over??. The tail lights are likely not original either. Don't think they came with a chrome lens ring, at least my brothers 53 did not and my 63 3B did not either. One other point I do not remember was the 'WILLYS' hood and grill lettering being painted white, ours were body color from the factory.

The ad did make it seem like it was an unrestored and unmolested jeep. At first glance, it did seem possible.

Not to me, never says un-molested OR un-restored; it just says "all original" including the tires. You can still buy ND tires, just like the originals. It's been listed for over 8 weeks; like I said, he's not a serious seller, just looking for someone to pay big bucks for something "all original" they can drive to their local cars n coffee and say "Look Joe, I gots me a all o-riginal Willys!"
You guys are reading chit into the ad just cause you wanna. :susp:

The point of “origin” was the Willy’s factory in Toledo.
It CANNOT be “original” if it has anything other than when it left the factory as a new .
If it has new paint then it certainly is no longer “original.”

If I had a $39,000 jeep it would not be strapped down with two log chains.
It would be inside a trailer with four wheel straps.

Paint and little bits ain't right, and where in hell is the spare and tire carrier.
