    production date Nov 1969, so it is an early 70. I think they switched to flanged after Feb 1970, After AMC legally took over (?)

    I may be wrong about that. Henry Kaiser claimed AMC took over in Nov. 1969 but asked AMC to wait until 1970 to put on the books for tax reasons. He could do that because was the majority shareholder of AMC after the merger.

    Renegades even those built in September of 69 all got the flanged axles.

    Tapered axles, under seat fuel tank, and oil bath air cleaner all show this as an early production 70, as evidenced by the vin sticker on the dash.

    Agree it's an early 1970.... FWIW, my jan 1970 has the flanged rear, but still under seat tank. Jan 1970 is about the beginning of the flanged axle, and I think March 1970 or so is the beginning of rear tank. Not that these transitions were instantaneous...

    Yep. And it no doubt has more rust issues than are apparent in the photos, as evidenced by the left fender brace. That said, if the 225 is salvageable, a very good price.
