Interesting! No issues with the Sequoia and our setup. It was very planted towing the Bronco. It's got IFS in the back so it's a lot different than a Tundra. Haven't tried towing with a Tundra yet.

I was pulling a 27ft toy hauler running about 7K which was right on the edge of it's tow capacity. It's profile is a lot taller than your car trailer and I'm required to pull four passes on I5 and another on 42 to get to the coast.
Power wise, it was fine and I loved the transmission.

I wouldn't have a 2nd thought towing 7k with the Expedition. Good COG and WDH...
I happened to be on the "fast lane truck" (FLT) Ike's loop, challenge, or whatever it's called, with The 4000lb camper in 2021. I started recognizing tunnels and such... nothing crazy
The new powertrain controls and Independent suspension with a good sway control weight distribution hitch is soo much better, my wife actually towed the camper home with a broken foot, no hesitation on her part. I dumped the tanks and she hopped in to drive.

Well, we like the Sequoia so much we decided to replace the old beater '89 Ford farm truck with a used Tundra.

The old truck get sent down the road to our ferrier:

Since we use the truck as a truck, we needed long bed Tundra to replace the Ford. Boy are those hard to find for sale! Nobody buys long bed half tons anymore.

We finally found one in Portland, OR, I flew out on a Friday Morning and drove it the 6 hours home the same day. Got a great view of Mt St Helens on the flight:

The new truck at the Dalles, OR for lunch. The old Ford had 185,000 miles on it and this one has 200,000 on it but it's in way better condition and drives worlds nicer. It has dents and dings, but nothing serious. Pefert for a farm truck. Not a big fan of the Brodozer wheels though:

Driving through the Wallula Gap on the Columbia River. It averages about 16mpg in our normal usage, so half again better than the Ford even though the 5.7 has 150 more HP than the old 7.5 in the Ford:

Putting it the work hauling scrap metal the day after we got it home:

Hauling hay a week after that:

We added a trailer brake, seat covers, OE steelie wheels and higher load rating tires to match our use case. The Brodoze wheels are on Craigslist. It's rated for 9000lbs and seems to tow well in that weight range:

Still need to get a headache rack installed.

We're really happy with the thing so far.

Finally got the headache rack on the Tundra so we don't blow out the rear window like we did on the last truck (after which that truck got a headache rack too).
