So, the slant 6 was/is a farm engine:) In the early days of my Triumph TR6, it was said the 6 cylinder in em was farm engine, something like that, never investigated. However, there are apparently so many Slant sixes out there and they're kind of bullet proof~ I'm not surprised that they powered many farm things;)

As for the slant 6, it's such a versatile engine to modify with bolt on stuff(turbo/super charge). One guy on the ForAbodies is building a drag car powered by a super modified slant 6. Me, I'm just happy to be able to do what I'm doing, it can get so costly especially with all the wrong turns I made in the beginning of this build, but I'm on track now;)

OK, engine back on the ERS(engine run stand) hopefully for a while. The engine supports are not the ones I'll be using, these came with the '75 Duster K member which makes better for mounting to my ERS. Always clean up going on in the garage~ so I'll keep working on that for today.

I was going to assemble the entire thing(head, manifolds), but my smaller lift is only good for 400lbs or so, don't want to push it

The four cylinder in the Triumph TR2,3,4 and 4a was developed as a tractor engine (Ferguson TE20). The six cylinder in the TR250/TR6 was not.

Whoa~ got some much needed parts to install my int/exh manifolds, the special gaskets somewhere amongst everything.

The studs came from badvert64[IMG] on the ForAbodies, the aluminum for the EGR block off plate came from an ebay seller, the aluminum is a tad narrow, but should work ok. Maybe tomorrow I can get busy installing all of these parts and make some much needed progress;)

Gee it's taking a while to get this engine together

Those new int/exh gaskets are wondeful!! My garage is getting roomier~ amazing how much room an engine can take up~ now waiting on the distributor, spark plug wires, carburetor, etc, still need to adjust the valves

haven't made any decisions on the valve cover

I think I'd get some 'blue magic' metal polish and put a high-shine on that offy valve cover. IDK. (blue magic is a good cleaner/polish with minimal effort, vs. something like flitz). I'm not sure how to preserve the shine once in place, but it's not hard to re-dose the metal again afterward.

I've used it on my chrome trailer hitch to remove rust. it does a good job and lasts months.

Also use it on the 'stock' exhaust tips on the 6.7 F250, makes 'em shiny.

I've used on Aluminum parts and they always look super sweet once done.

With a little effort, you can also make galvanized metal shiny with blue magic...

Also, I have to drive to Nevada or Oregon to get it, it's no longer allowed in California, probably has 1:10-trillion parts per gazillion of 'get it done' sauce that CARB finds offensive.

Or paint it a complementary color, but let the tops of the ribs be shiny alloy.

HI;) I'm wanting to relocate the alternator to this location give or take an inch, I only have this alternator to play with mocking the idea up. I do like GM alternators, I'm so familiar with them. There are very small alternators that I'd prefer. I would paint the alternator black to "hide" it in plain site. I find the problem with the adjuster arm, but actually ran out of steam to do any more today.

The original Alt goes on the passenger side of the engine and that's where the mini Sanden compressor will go. This will keep all the AC lines on that side instead of going all over the place. I just ordered the AC compressor I'll be using no matter where it winds up. When the compressor arrives I will install the engine on its K-member (temporarily mind you) and make sure I have the room for the compressor~ pretty sure I do. It's lot of work, but I "didn't do all this because it was easy~ I did it because it is hard";)

Looking at this one, but don't know anything about a 1 wire.

Took me and Gary about 20 minutes to install the engine, only temporary. My shop gantry crane makes this work easy;) All this to make sure there is room for the mini-Sanden AC compressor to go where the original mopar alternator went. As said, I hope to relocate the alternator with a smaller black 70 ampish just above the power steering pump. The AC compressor won't be here for another couple days, but I'll just leave the engine here for now. hm, I need to order; carb, spark plug wires,, the list goes on

I don't plan on using the original radiator, but I did clean it up and flushed it best I could and obviously painted it, but I can use it on the engine run stand. There's an aluminum radiator that looks attractive later on;)
As for the air cleaner inlet/fresh air? I could run a large flexible stock looking hose to the radiator support, it's already there?
    ok, enough for today~

I really need to redo the air cleaner lid, if I were to paint the valve cover in crinkle black, the air cleaner may look better a matte black.

the hole in the radiator support where I may run the fresh air to the air cleaner inlet
