    Hi!
Since I've finished the Bronco(not completely), I've started thinking a next project~ First ,Gary was wanting his '68 Camaro, not the actual one, but they're kind of hard to come by and in project form many have been gutted to make drag cars. He had one in high school; his had a 6 cylinder. But I convinced him we need an AMX!

The second is/was a 68-70 Amc Amx~ so I joined an AmX club only to find out parts aren't just like my mustang so is best to find one complete. So a fella on the amx forum which lives by me has a 69 AMX for 25k, but is completed and is really nice! even has AC, but defeats my purpose of a project, right! grr, so, I've been looking at worn Amx's, but go for 20k and rusted and really incomplete! So, looking on Bring a trailer, AMX's in pretty good shape don't go for a whole lot of money even in completed form, say 2-, 35k and more of course, so why bother doing a project at all?? If I bought a 20k rusted out missing parts amx, it would be 40-50k, but the people on the Amx forum say parts are really hard to come by these days.

Then, around the corner from us is a 59-60 Studebaker Hawk, the one in the pic, that car as been up on blocks since we moved here, and probably been there for a really long time, and probably rusted to heck, but Gary does not want it, but I think it would be a "fun" project! If anything, I'd just like to ask the people if I could at least look at it;)

oh well, it's fun to look at stuff!

You know which one I'm gonna vote for........ :sneak:
You definitely want to hold out for a fairly complete car. There are plenty of parts out there... they are just harder to find than picking up a magazine and ordering.
Virtually every part can be sourced if your patient, post a WTB on the AMC forum and join the various AMX facebook groups.

    AMX; coolest car AMC built.
Studebaker Hawk very cool. Supercharged. What's not to like?

    Both very cool projects.
Got a lot of projects, I won't finish them all.

Got to finish a few before taking on any additional projects.
The Jeeps however are on the top of the list.

You could take a swing at something entirely different like an Airstream.

I always liked the look of Cougar XR-7s. It's just a cushy Mustang and you've already done one so maybe you don't want to do another:

Kind of funny, but when I go to car gatherings, all sorts of fabulous rides show up, some so superb, such detail, I can't fathom doing one of those. I think I may becoming desensitized to cars/trucks and wanting a project requires that ~ I'VE GOT TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE", but it's kind of rare now days. I'm not burned out, just need to get the eye of the tiger I guess. Once I start tearing down whatever, I'm into it.
The XR7's are a pretty plush ride and a beautiful classic and deserve much attention, I had a '67 a very long time ago and it was quite a cushy car although it's just kind of Mustang, it's just nicer, the seats I remember were very nice, kind of a leather and the ride was much better than my mustang today. I remember being able to go over speedbumps and it didn't even phase the suspension!

My goal would be to bring an AmX(or whatever) back to what it looked like coming off the showroom floor or to the best of my ability, I don't want to do a restomod this time. However just for talk sakes, the Studebaker is in a class all its own too, but Gary is bound and determined I'm not going to do one! lol

I've just been cleaning the garage, going to try to put a few miles on the Bronco to build confidence in the ride~ you know? ;)

How about getting a rambler and turning it into a SC/Rambler clone. You would stand out from the AMX's at the car shows. There are quite a few Ramblers still in the junk yards.

That is pretty cool! Kind of reminds me of an early Nova? Actually, it's rare that I see an AMX show up at local car shows.

Howard, I did look at the Camaros in the raw, but darn, by the time one finds a frame, engine, etc, it'd be 100k! lol But the new steel is pretty awesome~ that being said, the early Bronco new body's are awesome too and "reasonable?" kaching!

The '63 and '64 Falcon Sprints are another of my favorites. Early ChevyII,s were another nice little rockets.

I almost bought a 68 AMX new. Fortunately, the CJ5 won that battle.

Really, you just need to do a year-long road trip helping the rest of us finish our projects.

I still think you should do an fc150, or fc170.

With your speed, skill and attention to detail you'll save another one!
