    Here is my conundrum

I have a 1970 donor with the 252/t14 combo and a 1974 with no drivetrain.

What would I need as far as motor and transmission mounts to bring the 252 into the '74?

Or, would I be better off to swap the body from the 74 onto the 70 chassis?

Your talking about mixing and matching generations; early vs intermediate. Though similar, there are a lot of significant differences.
Your ‘70 should have had a 225 Dauntless (Buick) V6, though an ‘80 GM 252 could have been installed.
Your ‘74 has a longer wheelbase/longer front fenders and hood to accommodate the AMC inline 232/258 straight 6. The engine frame mounts are very different than the early CJs. Both generations used different transmissions and transfer cases, so those will require fabrication to make them fit. The rear axles have different offsets between generations, so have to be matched to the transfer case.
The ‘74 body tub could be swapped, but again, there are many differences that will require fabrication. The front sheetmetal is not interchangable between generations unless you match it with the frame.
Its not an easy swap of parts.

Thanks for the response, I think I may sell the 70 and find a drivetrain for the 74

Does your 70 have a flanged rear? If you dont mind some body mount tinkering the 74 tub fits the 70 frame. You'll need the short fenders / hood from the 70. The 252 is desirable if in good order.
If you wanted to put the 252/14 combo in the 74 it's doable. Other than wheelbase the frames are similar dimensionally. The v6 mounts from the 70 can be carefully removed and swapped to the 74 frame. Transmission cross members are similar. You'd have to move the 70 axles over to the 74 or source a D20 tcase to put behind the t14 to utilize the 74 centered rear.

I am not sure I would trade the inline for the V6. I've had both in healthy form and a 258 feels like thew better choice to me. That said its just as easy to swap in a 304/360 with an aluminum intake, 4bbl, and hei :D:D
